SOMEDAY SOON
Reviewed

Beautiful and headstrong Lady Alexandra Wilton
had frustrated her father by spurning a long line of suitors.
But he has the last say in Joan Wolf's historical romance, "Someday
Soon." When he dies, his will mandates she must wed
his heir to collect her share of the estate.
To everyone's surprise, including the heir, that man is Niall
MacDonald raised as a Scot and his clan's next chieftain.
Alexandra and Niall are so dissimilar they can barely speak
a civil word to one another. Whoever said opposites attract
certainly wasn't thinking of these two. He is arrogant and Alexandra
is willful. Their mutual dislike is genuine.
The will stipulates that if they marry, Niall will inherit the
vast properties and Alexandra the money. For the estate to function
properly, they need one another - and so they agree to marry.
Niall because he needs the money to help his impoverished clan
and Alexandra because she wants to maintain her beautiful home.
Much as they would like to speak their vows and go their separate
ways, fate steps in and they are forced to spend time together.
It's a slow process but each begins to change their minds about
the other. Alex is not the spoiled and pampered English girl
Niall first accused her of being, and she is impressed with
his intelligence, and devotion to his clan.
Niall, brought up by his Scot grandfather to despise all things
English finds himself drawn to Alex and a late-night kiss on
the stairwell is just the beginning of a very challenging marriage.
I've come to treasure Joan Wolf's writing. She is an exquisite
storyteller who draws the reader into the tale to the point
that you feel you are not just an observer, but part of the
story itself. It's an experience I heartily recommend.
